Line up of events in details
Day 1
The official launching of the College week, which would be handled by our amiable Vice Chancellor, Professor Aize Obayan, and our distinguished Registrar, Deacon Yemi Nathaniel. The launch is to publicly declare open the CBS college week, in the presence of Deans of Colleges, Principal Officers, Staff and Students of Covenant University.
Opening ceremony (blue sparks). This event is to kick off the CBS college week. This will be followed by events such as dance, music, talent discovery, fashion display, etc. The motives of these events are to promote the core values of possibility mentality, responsibility and integrity. The core value of possibility mentality would be achieved through the talent discovery, music and dance where students in the various colleges would be given the opportunity to display their various talents. The core value of responsibility and integrity would be achieved through the fashion display which is set out to encourage proper and decent mode of dressing of the students of Covenant University.
Day 2
Unexplored quiz and funfair. These events will run side by side deliberately involving the three (3) colleges with the aim of bringing about unity and realizing the need for each other. Some say we may have red blood flowing through our veins, we may be standing on green grass, but we are all still under the blue sky. Not doubting the fact, we still are interdependent and it also brings the core value of responsibility and capacity building into practice. The core value of responsibility makes us see that we should be accountable for one another despite the variation in our program. The core value of capacity building releases us to openness to these colleges to learning new skills and taking on board new information to cause robustness and dept in the quality of our output.
Day 3
University conference/ talk show and film show. The conference is a University function which is targeted at encouraging savings and investment culture by students and members of staff. The conference is to enhance commitment to a life style of continuous academic and personal development. The film show which is titled THE PERFECT STRANGER is to raise the bedrock of our existence and the Jesus-factor centered to all issues.
Day 4
College fair and literary debate. This event is basically a university function in which we would invite prospective secondary school students for the college fair to enlighten them on the programs run in the college of business and social sciences and also define to them the core values of Covenant University vision. The Literary debate which will be organized by the Nigerian Economic Students Association (NESA) CU Chapter is to encourage students to exude self confidence, personal development and dignity at all levels as well as articulating their core purpose as individuals and a possibility mindedness.
Day 5
Trade fair (your money’s worth) and Humanitarian activity (lets love). The trade fair is set out to promote the entrepreneurship skills of the students which were first brought about by our entrepreneurial development studies (EDS). This event cuts across the three (3) colleges which serves as a means of advertisement for the business oriented person, their products and also companies and organizations that will be involved, which would further serve as an avenue for creating awareness to allow companies to continually be a part of the college trade fair which is scheduled to come up at least once every year. The humanitarian day is an opportunity for us to fulfill our social responsibility to most especially the outside world in this case the orphanage homes, the less privileged children in the society.
Day 6
Awards night. This is to acknowledge, award and promote diligence among CBS students and members of staff by recognizing responsibility and rewarding good character.
Day 7
Sports and dinner. The sport event is an approach to practice the aspect of the total man concept to develop a man that would expand his world. The sport events would comprise the staffs and the students competing against each other. The dinner is to crown the whole college week. This is an event which brings everyone under the umbrella of the Cbs to Dine in the realm of magnificence.
Make it a date with all of these UNEXPLORED activities.
